We face so much in our lives that if we are not careful, we may loose our faith in God. It feels like forever since I turned on a camera or wrote a blog article. I am praying that you enjoy this as much as I loved producing it. If you are more of a visual person, then please click to watch the YouTube video.
Firstly, let me start by saying Happy new month to you and you are officially welcome to February 2026. I honestly feel like this year is running faster than usual. One minute we are shouting Happy new year and suddenly we are in February. If you have followed me for a while and wondered where I have been in terms of sharing content on social media or even on YouTube then this post is for you as I explain what happened and why I had to leave YouTube and the entire creating content thing.
This article also goes hand in hand with my YouTube video so make sure to watch it after reading because it truly brings the story to life in a way that words alone cannot do even if you prefer reading.
Who Am I?
If you are new here, you are highly welcome to my corner of the internet. One thing you should know about me is that I am very passionate about young women and it is my mission to empower ambitious young women who love Jesus to defeat doubts, kick insecurity to the curb, and break through any kind of limitation whether it was placed on you by the society or even yourself. I do this because I want to see you rise up to become the woman that God has created and destined you to be ! Once you do this, you will finally be able to make an impact in your generation and one that will transcend to your unborn generations.

A Season of Healing
At my core, I love inspiring and empowering young women who love Jesus. I want you all to get the very best of me. But I just couldn’t be out here pouring into you when I was barely keeping it together myself. I didn’t want to come on screen smiling and shining while, behind the scenes, I was dying inside.
That’s why I sort of took a step back and I had to do it without announcing it if not I will just be overanalysing and procrastiplanning until maybe I break down on live video. The truth is that I was actually battling was a season of depression, though I didn’t even know it at the time.

The truth is that I never planned to be away from making content for this long but sometimes life just knocks you down. But I am thankful that I don’t serve a cartoon God, I serve a powerful God who brought me right back again. Now let me give you the real tea. So back in 2024, I lost my job as a marketing executive. This job, honestly I thought was an answer to prayer and in a way it was because moving from a toxic job where I had to go to work 5 days a week and spend 90 minutes each way to one where I worked from home 3 days a week and when I had to go into the office, my commute was 45 minutes. I also really enjoyed my job and I truly loved my team so I guess in a way, I got comfortable. I thought that this role was part of God’s long term plan for my career. I envisioned a career growth, stability and bigger opportunities that will flow as a result. But I guess God had other plans.
Due to systematic racism in the workplace, and a new Pharoah arising, I was unfortunately let go and honestly these companies are ruthless when they want to get rid of you. Unfortunately I hadn’t joined a work union at the time who could fight for me so I just let everything go and just trusted that somehow everything will work out in the end. However, what followed was a season that I didn’t recognise at first but looking back now, I can confirm it was depression.
What made this season a lot worse and more difficult than it should have been was that I stopped applying for marketing jobs because of the number of unfortunately emails I got and I was applying for jobs that I could literally do with my eyes closed and yet I was still getting so many unfortunately. It seems like no matter what I was doing, nothing was working… I was just receiving rejection after rejection…. Silence after silence. Prior to this and especially since relocating back to London from Birmingham, I have honestly never been out of work for more than three months and it’s nothing to do with me but it is all about God. So having to experience this two years of drought really shook me deeply and it also began to eat away at my confidence and self esteem.
At first, I tried to keep showing up online, smiling, encouraging and inspiring others. But the truth is that I just wasn’t okay. I began to doubt myself and the call of God upon my life, I wasn’t being authentic and I sure as heck wasn’t pouring from an overflowing cup and that my dear is a very dangerous place to be. I had to evaluate my life and I knew I couldn’t keep doing that. I refused to show up pretending that everything was all sunshine and rainbows when I was practically dying and breaking down on the inside. So I did the most sensible thing at the time.
I stepped back and honestly I wanted to take a break but later I decided to quit but as God being so good, He healed me and brought me back. This break was an absolutely necessary time so that I am able to do for you what God has called me to do.
The Power of Prayer and Community
One of the hardest lessons I had to learn during this season is that strong women and even anointed women still need support. God did not create us to be superwomen but created us to thrive in community. If you are privileged to know me offline and get really close to me, you will know that I am someone who freely gives when I can. I support people, pray for people and show up for people in anyway that I can. But when it comes to me receiving help and accepting help, my dear it was as if the ground should open and swallow me. Honestly that was such a hard thing for me to do.
Looking back, I can see that God really used that season to humble me. I am very grateful that I was not alone because God used my spiritual mum in the Lord Mama Nandy and my Prophet to really lift me up. Mama Nandy stood with me in prayer week after week but this was after a year of being out of work. I was praying by myself too of course but in this period, I truly needed someone else to help carry me because at this point, I was a wounded soldier.
Sometimes, you are the strong soldier, and other times you are the wounded soldier who needs other strong soldier to lift you up. But that doesn’t make you weak, it makes you human. Remember that God created us to thrive in communities which is why you should never neglect the fellowship of other believers.
If you are reading this, and you feel stuck, overwhelmed or unable to see a way forward, I want you to know that you are not failing, you are not alone and my darling trust me when I say that the season that you are in right now, will not last forever. Hold on to God and He will surely come through for you.
